It's been a while since I last posted because I've been doing a lot of traveling, working, studying etc. But it's the new year and I decided it was time for a life update!
First things first, Happy New Year!
For a good amount of December I have been going back and forth from home, working as much as I can, and studying for my entrance exam for grad school.
I took my first entrance exam at the beginning of the break just to get a feel for the test and I got the baseline score for getting into grad school! As exciting as that is, I want to do even better so I've been spending about 3 hours a day studying before I take it again at the end of the break.
I also started my new job around the end of October and am settling in. I am absolutely in love with my new job and the people I work with. They are so caring and fun to be around, including my Store Manager. They truly make it easy to go into work and make the long weeks easier. Any time I find myself thinking that I don't want to go to work I remember who I get to see when I get there and it makes all the difference. The opportunities they offer to me are incredible. I truly couldn't have asked for a better transition and experience. I can tell it's going to be my home for a while and I hope to take advantage of the opportunities they are giving me.
With graduation coming up so fast and the application cycle for grad school coming up even faster, I've decided it's crunch time. What this means is that I've decided to stop messing around with the extracurriculars that aren't going to be very helpful to me. This means that I will not be joining the equestrian team when the semester starts back up. As much as I want to be able to do it, there is just not enough time and it's time that grad school come first in every aspect.
One thing I'm really excited about is the fact that I've been training for a 5k for the last six weeks or so and I only have about two weeks of training left! If all goes well I will be able to run a whole 5k by the end of those two weeks! This is a big accomplishment for me because running/cardio health is something I've really struggled with. However, in 2020 I decided to change that. While my cardio endurance is very slowly improving, my recovery rate is incredible and something I have noticed a major difference in and I'm so excited about that.
My mental health is also something I plan on really taking control of in the new year. I have improved so much over this last year but there is still more work to be done and I'm excited to share more about that later.
I'm looking forward to what 2021 has to offer for me and I will keep y'all updated as I go ;)
